We are starting an exciting journey for European tech innovation with the launch of the D2XCEL scaling programme. In April 2024, our first open call for ventures and stakeholders will be announced. This collaborative initiative is set to transform the pan-European startup landscape, propelling deep tech and digital ventures to strengthen sectors such as Transport, Logistics & Trade, and Smart Cities and increase their market footprint, contributing substantially to the sustainability and European sovereignty in these sectors.

Vision and purpose

Bringing together 13 consortium partners from all corners of Europe, D2XCEL is a transformative EU-funded project that aims to establish a sustainable scaling programme, with a focus on deep tech and digital ventures in 10 market opportunities. D2XCEL empowers startups and scaleups to provide market-ready applications, foster growth, and contribute significantly to the sustainability and European sovereignty of these crucial industries while serving as a catalyst to enhance the European startup ecosystems.

D2XCEL goes into deep to recognize the key challenges faced by ventures in their path to scale up and make an impact. Among those challenges are access to pan-European growth funding, markets and internationalization, connections to lead customers and procurers in both corporate and public sectors, formation of strong leadership teams, and the management of strong IPR portfolios.

Over the next 26 months, the project will establish the D2XCEL scaling platform, engaging 300+ investors, public and private lead customers, and innovation hubs to support 100 startups and scaleups in 10 high-potential market opportunities, launch 2 open calls to attract applications and select 100 beneficiaries. The world-class team behind D2XCEL will then provide holistic scaling and mentoring services, facilitate access to financing and partnerships, and raise visibility for participating companies.

Each of D2XCEL’s partners brings diverse expertise and global influence which will culminate in a unique network of stakeholders supporting our scaling programme. The selected startups and scaleups will be beneficiaries of the scaling services delivered by the consortium partners, top-class expert mentors in the #10 selected markets groups and from network partners delivering additional horizontal services.
